The 9th Annual Pleasanton Poetry, Prose & Arts Festival

This is an exciting two-day celebration of poetry, prose and visual arts held every year filled with inspiring and informative workshops, events, contests and people. This year's keynote speaker will be Bob Jenkins, An Artist in the World. $1,200 will be given in awards in the Poetry and Prose Contests. Registration and contest submissions are now being accepted for this event.

Contest Entry Deadline: All entries must be postmarked by Monday, March 15, 2010.

Ahoy! Treasure Island

Civic Arts Stage Company in collaboration with San Francisco Shakespeare Festival

bring you this classic adventure tale by Robert Louis Stevenson.

 

Set in the days of sail ships and pirates, Treasure Island tells of the adventures of Jim Hawkins and his search for the buried treasure of the notorious pirate Captain Flint. Treasure Island is an exciting adventure story filled with many trials for the good men on board trying to save the treasure from the hands of the pirates and assuring their safe return home. It's a wonderful portrayal of courage and honesty.
