Pleasanton hosts a number of arts activities and entertainment programs for all ages. For additional information on the below items, click on the links to the left.
The City offers a variety of performing, visual, and literary arts through its Civic Arts program. These include a presenting series of professional entertainment, our annual free Shakespeare in the Park, Movies in the Park, the popular Poetry, Prose & Arts Festival and poetry reading series, as well as public art pieces around town, and arts events for youth.
The Community Services Department offers a wide variety of arts classes each quarter. Classes cover areas such as ceramics, origami, dance, drawing, painting, music, and photography.
Groups such as Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council, Pleasanton Art League, and Pleasanton Community Concert Band also offer arts programs or activities around town. The Pleasanton Downtown Association also coordinates a number of events with an art component, such as the Pleasanton Heritage Festival, Concerts in the Park, and First Wednesday Street Parties. The Museum on Main Street provides a link to past cultures of the area through guest lectures, exhibits and tours.
