The Sippy Cups To Perform “Family Rock”

at SaturYAY! Finale

Family rock band The Sippy Cups will perform in the season finale of SaturYAY! on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.

The troupe was founded by the parents of preschoolers who are excited by the world of creativity inhabited by their children. The group’s family-friendly performances are inspired by children and feature, in addition to their pop-rock band, a circus performer and large-scale puppets.

In their high-energy show, the San Francisco Bay Area band guides parents in making music with their children, teaches children how to resolve conflicts non-violently and educates and entertains them about the wonders of the environment, all because “it's great fun.” 

The Sippy Cups’ guiding principles are:

• Be yourself and express yourself!
• Make music with your family!
• Rock and roll dancing is great exercise!
• Everybody plays, no spectators!
• Respect nature by learning about your environment!
• Cooperation, kindness, peace and love!

“Our new SaturYAY! series has been very well received by Tri-Valley families this season and it’s been fun watching them participating and enjoying themselves at the shows,” says Program Coordinator Michelle Russo.   “We look forward to expanding the series next fall and providing even more live Saturday morning entertainment for children and their parents,”
