Attention homeowners age 62 or older. ECHO Housing is a non-profit housing counseling agency approved by HUD to provide free information and education regarding reverse mortgages.
A reverse mortgage is a loan against home equity that provides cash advances to a homeowner. No repayment is required until the end of the term, or when the home is sold. Many of today's reverse mortgages allow the homeowner to reside in the home for the rest of his/her life, even if he/she outlives the value of the home.
A reverse mortgage counselor will speak on the subject on Wednesday, May 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pleasanton Public Library, 400 Old Bernal Avenue.
The program is free and open to the public and will take place in the Pleasanton Library meeting room.
