The Pleasanton Public Library welcomes TV news personality and author Juliette Goodrich, on Saturday, May 5 at 1:00 p.m. Goodrich will discuss her third children’s book, I Am Special Because I Smile, the story of the Special Olympics and her experience with those very special athletes. Goodrich will offer an engaging glimpse into her writer’s world and the process she goes through to create fun, engaging children’s non-fiction.
Best known as an Emmy award-winning KPIX Channel 5 news anchor and reporter, Juliette Goodrich is also the author of two previous books for children featuring local landmarks. Little Light Shines: A True Story about the World’s Longest Burning Light Bulb chronicles the story of the famous Livermore Centennial Light, and The Train of Lights, which was inspired by a family ride aboard the Niles Canyon Railroad Christmas train.
No registration is required for this free event. Co-sponsor Towne Center Books will have all three of Ms. Goodrich’s books on hand for purchase and autographs.
