Requesting materials from other libraries
If you search the catalog for a book that is not owned by the Pleasanton Public Library you will be given the option of searching for it in other library collections.
A button labeled LINK+ will appear in the upper right corner of the search screen when this option is available to you. Click this button to search for the same title, author or subject in the collections of LINK+ member libraries. LINK+ is a consortia of public and academic libraries with 14,000,000+ items.
LINK+ is a request service for books only. You must have a library card to place requests. In most cases, requested books will arrive within 2 to 5 days.
Complete your LINK+ request with the followings steps:
- After you find the book you want, click on Request This Item
- The next screen will ask you to select your institution from a drop down menu. Click on Pleasanton
Enter your name and library card number as prompted (Disregard any letters in your card number, enter only the numbers.)
You will be told which library received your request. You will be contacted by the Pleasanton Public Library when the requested book arrives.
- There is no fee for placing a request through Link+. The loan period is 21 days. Fines for overdue materials are $1.00 per day. Lost items must be replaced with the same book or a fee of $115.00 will be assessed.
