Education Programs

As part of our COPPS program, the Animal Services Officers are currently in the process of developing programs that will teach youngsters to be responsible pet owners and educate the public about the importance of spaying or neutering their pets. The Animal Services Officers also have handouts available to address dog licensing, barking dogs, and living with wild animals.

Little One Education Program

The Little One Education Program is designed to teach kindergarten through third grade students how to avoid being bitten by a dog. It is available to Pleasanton elementary school classes and community based organizations by request. The program is approximately 30 minutes long and uses a variety of teaching methods including coloring books, word games and a video. The course is taught by a Pleasanton Animal Services Officer and can be scheduled by contacting the Animal Services Bureau at (925) 931-5226.
