Teen Academy

The Pleasanton Police Department is pleased to offer a unique educational opportunity for the youth of our community.  The Police Department’s Teen Academy is a three week long program offered annually each summer.  The goal of the program is to give teens an inside look of the police department, the opportunity to learn about law enforcement procedures from the officers themselves, and to develop stronger partnerships between the Police and youth of our community.

Instruction includes a combination of classroom lecture and hands on learning activities.

Topics include:

  • Animal Services
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Juvenile Traffic Enforcement
  • K-9 Program
  • Narcotics Investigations
  • Patrol Procedures
  • Radio Communications
  • SWAT

The Teen Academy is offered free of charge to local high school students, generally between the ages of 14 and 18 years of age.
