Craig Eicher started his career in law enforcement in 1989 while volunteering as a Reserve Police Officer with the City of Pleasanton. He enjoyed working for the Police Department, in support of the community, and found the work to be both meaningful and rewarding. In 1991 he joined the department as a police officer and held the following assignments; bicycle officer, field training officer, and detective.
In 2003 Craig was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and one year later was selected to supervise the criminal investigations unit and property unit. He was promoted to Lieutenant in the spring of 2007 and worked as a patrol Watch Commander until he was assigned as the special operations unit commander in the summer of 2009. As the special operations commander, Craig was responsible for the traffic unit, animal services, special events, permits, taxi regulation and policy.
As a Captain, Craig currently oversees the Investigations and Services Division of the Police Department.
Craig has an Associate’s Degree from Las Positas College in Livermore, a Bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice from California State University Hayward and a Master’s degree in Public Sector Leadership from Saint Mary’s College.
