Crime Prevention

Crime Prevention was created to educate citizens in crime prevention, personal safety, neighborhood watch and similar crime reduction strategies.

The Crime Prevention Coalition of America has defined crime prevention as follows:

A pattern of attitudes and behaviors directed both at reducing the threat of crime and enhancing the sense of safety and security, to positively influence the quality of life in our society, and to help develop environments where crime cannot flourish.

The Pleasanton Police Department has developed the following crime prevention initiatives as part of an overall program to eliminate or reduce crime:

  • Neighborhood Watch
  • Burglar Alarm Information
  • Operation Identification
  • Home Security
  • Vehicle Security
  • Identity Theft
  • Robbery Prevention
  • Personal Safety
  • Annoying Phone Calls
  • Prevention of Bicycle Thefts
  • Safety Presentations
  • Stranger Danger Presentations
  • Vacation Watch
  • Home/Business Security Survey
  • Brochures and Information

For information on Crime Prevention programs, literature or questions, please contact Officer Archie Chu at (925) 931-5233 or CSO Shannon Revel at (925) 931-5240 or via email.
