Of the nearly 10,000 citations issued each year for moving, mechanical and parking violations the officers write nearly twice as many Courtesy Citations to violators. The Courtesy Citation program has been in existence for almost twenty years and has contributed to the quality and safety of our community. This citation is used primarily for first time offenders involved in minor traffic infractions. The program serves to educate motorist, bicyclist and pedestrians of violations that can contribute to traffic collisions and/or injuries.
