Alamo Canal Trail Extension

The cities of Pleasanton and Dublin, East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD), Zone 7 Water Agency, and Caltrans are working together to create a trail under I-580 to connect Pleasanton and Dublin.

This joint project would provide Pleasanton residents an alternate route to the Iron Horse Trail in Dublin.  It would also provide visitors to Pleasanton non-motorized, off-street access to various areas in the City, such as Val Vista Community Park, Tennis and Community Park, Alameda County Fairgrounds, and Downtown/Main Street.

A feasibility study for the project has been completed, and work on the design and environmental phases has begun. This portion of work is being funded by Pleasanton, Dublin and EBRPD, as well as a $235,000 grant from the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA).

For more information on ACTIA, please visit their website.

Watch this space for future community meetings on the project.
