Transportation

One of Pleasanton's key attributes is its' location in the Bay Area.  Pleasanton is fortunate to be served by numerous public transportation agencies that helps residents and employees get to their work or home destination whether it is in Pleasanton or miles away.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Pleasanton is fortunate to be served by numerous public transportation agencies including the following:

Pleasanton Paratransit - provides local Door-to-Door and fixed route bus service for seniors. This link provides information regarding this service.

 

Bay Area Rapid Transit - service from the Dublin/Pleasanton station located at Owens Drive in Pleasanton to the East Bay and San Francisco with various connections to all parts of the Bay Area.

 

WHEELS is a service provided by the Livermore/Amador Valley Transit Authority to serve the communities of Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton. Fixed route service runs in the morning until 9:00 a.m. and after 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Between 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Altamont Commuter Express - commuter service from Stockton to San Jose through Pleasanton in the AM and reverse direction in the PM. Trains run on the weekdays only. The Pleasanton station is located at 4950 Pleasanton Avenue across from the main entrance to the Alameda County Fairgrounds. The station has 305 parking spaces. Parking for ACE riders is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
