In partnership with Zone 7’s Water-Efficient Lawn Conversion Program, the City of Pleasanton is offering rebates to residential and non-residential customers who replace existing water-thirsty front lawns or sidewalk- visible lawns with water-efficient, drought tolerant landscaping.   Save water, beautify your landscaping, and reduce your maintenance time!

Apply before July 1st, 2012 to receive up to $1.00* per square foot! (See program Terms and Conditions).

Maximum rebates through the City of Pleasanton are $500 for single family and $3,000 for multifamily, commercial, and irrigation customers before July 1st.

NEW Water-Efficient Irrigation Rebate for Irrigation Customers

brokenhead.jpgReduce outdoor water use and promote a healthy and attractive landscape by improving watering efficiency through the installation of water-efficient irrigation hardware.

Irrigation meter customers participating in the City of Pleasanton’s Water-Efficient Landscape Program are eligible for rebates towards qualifying water-efficient irrigation equipment utilized on the converted landscape area. Qualifying equipment include rain sensors, pressure regulating devices and rotary nozzles. See Terms and Conditions for full details.

Controller Assistance Program for Single Family Residents

The Controller Assistance Program is open to single-family residents responsible for the property water bill. Interested customers can contact the City’s Water Conservation Coordinator for details and scheduling a visit: 925-931-5513.

Free Indoor Water-Efficient Device Program

Was your home built before 1994? If so, and you have not remodeled since, your home is likely equipped with inefficient water hardware. Stop by the Utility Billing Counter at 3333 Busch Road to pick up water-efficient showerheads (limit 3), bathroom aerators (limit 3), and kitchen aerator (limit 1).

You can also pick up free toilet dye strips to check for a silent water leak in your toilets. Perhaps you need to replace your toilet flappers – you can pick up these for free as well! (Make sure your toilet is compatible with these flappers before changing them out.)

Free Water Conservation Lavatory Signs

Commercial customers can request these east-to-use water conservation cling (non-stick) reminders to post on lavatory mirrors.  The signs help remind customers and employees to be mindful of water waste.  Sign requests can be made to the City's Water Conservation Coordinator by calling (925) 931-5513, or email: rdicandia@ci.pleasanton.ca.us.

High-Efficiency Toilets

In collaboration with Zone 7 water agency, the City of Pleasanton is offering rebates on new, qualifying High-Efficiency Toilets (HETs), including dual-flush toilets. HETs use 1.28 gallons of water or less per flush.  The rebate program has been expanded to include commercial and multi-family residential customers.

Rebates of up to $100 per toilet are offered for replacing a 3.5 gallon per flush toilet or a faulty toilet with an approved high-efficiency toilet.  HET Rebate Application

Water Efficient Washing Machines

Zone 7 and PG&E are offering a combined rebate of up to $125 if you purchase a qualifying Tier 2 (or higher) high-efficient clothes washer.  Installing a new high-efficiency washing machine can save you water, energy, and detergent costs! This program ends December 31, 2012.  Note – Silver Ion technology does NOT qualify for water rebate.

Program details, application form, and a current list of qualifying models can be found by visiting http://www.waterenergysavings.com/ or calling the Electric & Gas Industries Association at 1-800-587-3442.  Information is also available from Zone 7 at 925-454-5000.
